Calling all Lassonde Engineers!
Do you want to turn purple?
For our first event of the school year, the Lassonde Engineering Society is inviting all Lassonde students to participate in our purpling party this coming Friday September 25th in the Stong Pit from 2:30pm – 5:00pm!
It is a tradition in Canadian Engineering to dye ourselves purple in honour of the purple-clad Marine Engineers who remained on board the Titanic to delay the ship’s sinking.
At the purpling party there will be a pool full of gentian violet for you to dye your fingers, arms, legs or even a white t-shirt purple! For the adventurous, it is even big enough to jump all the way in and turn yourself purple from head to toe!
We will also be selling some awesome swag at the event including Engineering Hard Hats (cash only!) to help you show off your school spirit!
Following our purpling party, we will be having a mixer in the Design Commons room of our new home, the Bergeron Centre! Best of all, with the help of The Geomatics Club we will be offering FREE FOOD to anyone at the mixer who has dyed something purple!
This is a great opportunity to meet other students from Lassonde and build your post secondary network!
Please like our page on Facebook or follow us on Twitter to continue receiving updates from future events hosted by the Lassonde Engineering Society! Check for updates about the Geomatics club on their website!
We’re looking forward to a great year with all of you!
